Dave Sax, MA, LMHCA

About Me

Hi -  I’m Dave.  I’m passionate about helping people develop the tools to feel empowered, understand themselves, and be resilient in navigating life’s challenges.  I’m a good therapist for adults and older teens (generally 15 and up), who are struggling with depression, anxiety, stress, anger, chronic pain or a lack of direction in life or similar types of personal challenges.

My overall goal as a counselor is to help you achieve new ways of responding to the demands of your life and to help you explore your thoughts, feelings and behaviors so you can develop effective strategies for growth. At the same time being sensitive and compassionate to the way your physical functioning may interact with your well-being.

I was a physical therapist for more than 20 years before I became a counselor, and appreciate the interconnectedness of mind, body, and spirit especially as it relates to pain. I offer a unique, compassionate and integrative approach to mental health and overall wellness.

I provide counseling for folks of all genders and backgrounds and have an interest in supporting men, acknowledging the challenges tied to mental health stigma.

Counseling is a powerful tool to help you facilitate meaningful change and if you’re ready to embrace change and committed to your well-being, I’m here to support you.

Additional background and interests….

As a musician and photographer I value creative expression and how this may impact one’s mental health, and honor its importance as part of the therapeutic process.

I’ve always found great comfort in nature. It can be a powerful healer, promoting overall wellness, especially our mental health and believe it’s a beneficial adjunct to therapy.
